CAMP JORN YMCA-ASSISTANT DAY CAMP DIRECTOR
Job Title: ASSISTANT DAY CAMP DIRECTOR

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community
through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Provides direct leadership to
coordinate schedules, direct, and supervise programming for Day Camp in the following program areas:
sailing, crafts, canoeing/kayaking, target sports, biking, water ski/tubing, and waterfront.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assists with leading, planning, preparing, and general program operations in accordance with
Camp Jorn guidelines - Responsible for providing a safe, high quality environment for all campers and staff through
maintaining compliance with program policies, procedures and schedules. - Aids in the development of program curriculum and implementation following weekly themes
- Supervise and provide guidance to program staff and counselors.
- Serve as a resource for day camp counselors on a daily basis
- Ensure that day camp staff are maintaining a clean living space on property
- Work alongside the Day Camp Director to develop and implement enriching programs
- Build effective, authentic relationships with campers; helping them connect with each other and to
Camp Jorn YMCA. - Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Possess current certifications in CPR/First Aid/AED, Lifeguard, & Wilderness FA
- Previous camp experience preferred
- Proven leadership ability with organizational skills and a talent for supporting others
- Ability to observe camper behavior and apply appropriate behavior management techniques.
- Ability to identify and respond to hazards in camp, respond and implement emergency plans.
- At least 21 years of age preferred.
- Ability to build relationships with campers, parents and staff.

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community
through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Provides leadership to plan, direct,
and deliver activities for campers in Day and Resident Camp programs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Create and lead structured camp activities in accordance with Camp Jorn guidelines.
- Uphold and maintain camp, YMCA, DCF, and ACA standards in regards to camp activities.
- Ensure safety through enforcing all safety and health rules and guidelines among campers, peers,
parents, and guests. - Supervise and manage camper behavior effectively.
- Build effective, authentic relationships with campers; helping them connect with each other and to
Camp Jorn YMCA. - Ensure safety and cleanliness of camp program areas and living spaces.
- Other duties as assigned.

CAMP JORN YMCA-PROGRAM ASSISTANT

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Provides assistance to support, organize, and help in the office and Trading Post.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for the collection and distribution of all camper mail and assisting in preparation of out-going mail.
- Assists in the total operation of the camp store including ordering stock, keeping trading post clean and orderly and responsible for maintaining accurate records of camper’s Trading Post accounts.
- Assist in day-to-day operation of the Camp office.
- Filing and copying documents as needed.
- Assist in camper check-in and/or check-out as needed.
- Build effective, authentic relationships with campers; helping them connect with each other and to Camp Jorn YMCA.
- Other duties as assigned.

Assistant Cook
Looking for a summer job that makes a difference, Camp Jorn YMCA, located in Manitowish Waters, WI, is looking to hire an Assistant Cook. This is a full-time seasonal position from June through August. We are a Summer Day/Resident Camp and Child Care Facility with children and staff on site from June 4th -August 20th. We are open 7 days a week and serve 3 cafeteria style meals and 2 snacks daily.
-Pay is negotiable based on experience starting at $800 per week
-Shared room & board provided if desired
Essential functions of this position:
Work with the Head Cook to:
- Develop menu plans which support healthy nutritious meals for campers, groups and participants within established budget and in accordance with guidelines.
- Responsible for and oversees the preparation and delivery of meals.
- Ensure food safety and cleanliness protocols are met.
- Maintain an appropriate inventory of food supplies working with food providers to ensure quality of food supplies.
- Provide menu options for a variety of dietary needs and restrictions.
- Supervise and provide guidance to kitchen and other program staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Possess current certifications in CPR/First Aid/AED preferred.
- Food Safe Certification from county Public Health Department or ability to obtain certification.
- Knowledge of kitchen operating procedures and food handling and storage.
- Prior experience in food preparation preferred
- At least 21 years of age preferred
